Cardon Statement on November Unemployment Report
Press Release
Jobs report again demonstrates not enough has been done
Phoenix, Arizona - The Bureau of Labor and Statistics announced that the November jobs report shows our country's unemployment rate remains over 8 percent for a record 34 consecutive months. U.S. Senate candidate, Wil Cardon, noted that while President Obama has been campaigning across the country and career politicians in Washington have continued to show their incompetence, the American people are the ones who are suffering.
Today in our nation's Capital, President Obama and Congressional leaders will undoubtedly tout the slight decrease in unemployment for the month of November a success for moving in the right direction. Arizonans understand that this is more political rhetoric and our country is facing a meltdown. The Associate Press stated, "Still, one reason the unemployment rate fell so much was because roughly 315,000 people gave up looking for work and were no longer counted as unemployed."
After today's report, political outsider Wil Cardon issued the following statement:
"November's unemployment numbers show us once again that Washington is not moving fast enough and is continually hindering job growth in this country. President Obama and Congress have not acted with a sense of urgency when in reality over 13.3 million Americans are still unemployed. The President and our leaders in Congress seem to be okay with the unemployment rate remaining over 8 percent for 34 months straight as they continue with their do nothing mentality. For me, this is unacceptable. Each family that becomes affected by this unemployment epidemic represents important and valued members of our communities. When one person becomes unemployed, it affects us all. We need more leaders in Washington that will not treat the American people like statistics."
